I love to teach dancers to find their own unique style, not to dance like someone else, while learning to express the music.
When I was in college, my mom asked if we wanted to take (tee-hee!) bellydance class through adult ed, with her and all her friends. We had a blast, but being that it was way before youtube or easy to find performances, we had a very orientalized version of what they were doing.
After that 8 week session, I was the only one of our group that contiued, but I found my love of the dance and movements.
I am currently trying to reconnect with my love of the movement, while experimenting with expanding my style, after this long pandemic.
