Mixed Level

Traditional Style with Lisa

New time and mixed format starts April 15th. See calendar below for holidays

That voice saying 'you can't do this' is a liar.

Every class introduces a few fascinating isolations (yes, your body DOES move that way!) with a focus on building good movement habits, so you can keep dancing into old age, and the cultural context of the dance as both a performance art and a social activity.

We alternate between practicing combos and learning to speak the music's language, so you can create your own dancing and express yourself!

Come cut loose, meet some new friends, gain strength, and discover the amazing things your body can do!

Musicality, Rhythm, and Veil

traditional style

SEE DETAILS ON SEMESTERS AND DATES BELOW

Lisa's level two classes practice the movement vocab. from level 1, and build on what you've learned. By teaching you to recognize the cues in the music, you can develop your own style and express your own feeling.

Combinations and choreographies are used as teaching tools; we also practice improvisational skills, so you never be dependent on Lisa, or anyone else, to feed you choreographies. Students have the OPTION to perform the choreographies we learn together at semi-annual student recitals. Spring and summer sessions hold space for students to develop their own dances with teacher support and feedback.

Student's combinations are used to build the group choreography, to a bespoke drum solo that reviews 8 of the rhythms covered!
